20 terms
- Amplitude
- A number attached to each possible outcome. Bigger amplitude = more likely.
- Basis state
- One of the ordinary outcomes a register can show, like 0101.
- BitTry it β
- A bit stores one of two values: 0 or 1.
- DiffusionTry it β
- The step that makes the marked answer stand out by 'bouncing' amplitudes around their average.
- EntanglementTry it β
- When qubits become linked so their results match up, even far apart.
- GroverTry it β
- A quantum method for finding a marked item among many, using fewer checks.
- HadamardTry it β
- A gate that turns 0 into an equal mix of 0 and 1.
- InterferenceTry it β
- When quantum possibilities add up or cancel out, like waves in water.
- MeasurementTry it β
- Looking at a qubit. You always get a normal 0 or 1.
- NoiseTry it β
- Unwanted disturbances that cause qubits to make mistakes.
- OracleTry it β
- A 'checker' that secretly marks the right answer.
- PhaseTry it β
- A hidden angle on a qubit. You can't see it directly, but it changes how waves combine.
- ProbabilityTry it β
- How likely a result is, from 0% to 100%.
- QECTry it β
- Quantum error correction: tricks to spot and fix qubit mistakes.
- QMLTry it β
- Quantum machine learning: using quantum circuits as learning models.
- Quantum CircuitTry it β
- A recipe of steps (gates) applied to qubits, drawn as lines and boxes.
- Quantum Gate
- An operation that changes qubits, like a logic gate changes bits.
- QubitTry it β
- A quantum bit. It can be in a mix of 0 and 1 until you measure it.
- Statevector simulation
- Calculating a quantum computer's behaviour on an ordinary computer.
- SuperpositionTry it β
- Being in a combination of 0 and 1 at the same time β in a way that can interfere.
